About the Position
The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Data Assistant to support the Evidence-based Practice, Outcomes, and Impact Center (EPIC) within the Department of Internal Medicine – Nephrology and Hypertension.
This position plays a vital role in managing data, coordinating research activities, and supporting projects that improve health outcomes through evidence-based medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Review academic journals, databases, and medical literature to collect and organize research data.
- Collaborate with librarians, post-doctoral researchers, and principal investigators to gather supporting evidence for systematic reviews and clinical guideline development.
- Run and clean data using AI and statistical tools for analysis.
- Assist in preparing research papers, summaries, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, research events, and focus groups.
- Support travel arrangements, reimbursements, and administrative documentation for research activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: At least 4 years of relevant research, data, or public health experience.
- (Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
- Experience reviewing or analyzing research publications.
- Familiarity with public health or medical research data systems.
- Prior work as a research assistant or data coordinator.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and data management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
